Roorkee College of Pharmacy offers Diploma in Pharmacy. It is a two years diploma program. Pharmaceutical industry offers very lucrative careers for D. Pharm qualified candidates. Such candidates are of great demand in public and private nursing homes and hospitals. They can also start their own medical stores after getting registered with the State Pharmacy Council.

About D. Pharm

D. Pharmacy course is a diploma-level program that provides comprehensive training in pharmaceutical science and practice. The course curriculum typically covers subjects such as Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, and Hospital Pharmacy. Students also learn about drug formulations, dosage forms, drug delivery systems, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacotherapy. D. Pharmacy Course Duration
The duration of the Diploma in Pharmacy course is typically 2 years. The curriculum is usually divided into two parts,  one academic year, with an emphasis on classroom learning, laboratory work, and internships or industrial training.

Practical Training

Laboratory Work: Hands-on training in pharmaceutical formulation, analysis, and quality control
Hospital Training: Exposure to clinical pharmacy practices, patient care, and hospital pharmacy management.

Eligibility Criteria for D. Pharm

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed their higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent from a recognised board.
Required Subjects: The qualifying examination should include science subjects, specifically Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics.

Minimum Marks: Candidates are typically required to secure a minimum aggregate percentage in their 10+2 exams, usually around 45% to 50%, though this may vary by institution.
